Compact addition to your toolkit

LBRO has produced a ready to use version of its Impacts and Outcomes toolkit following its enthusiastic take up by regulatory enforcement officers.
This step by step guide to developing ways to measure the impacts and outcomes of regulatory services will help officers who are under the pressures of constricted finances and rising expectations to create and implement improvement plans.
The summarised version is one of the first in a number of practical and user-friendly tools being developed so support the Excellence Framework, the product of work between LBRO, local authorities and LACoRS.
LBRO Chairman Clive Grace said: "The new publication sticks to the essentials but, like its predecessor, still provides a process for building a robust evidence base to quantify the benefits of regulatory activities for business and consumers.
"Officers have in the past found it difficult to prove the impact of their work: this tool helps them measure it, demonstrate it and actively improve it."
The Impacts and Outcomes toolkit is supported by resources on the LBRO website: www.lbro.org.uk, including a template for the visual representation of key performance measures, and relevant case studies.
